Tempt the Messiah- Part 3

“Light from the Mountain”

Now Christ has been taken up onto a high mountain. Was this a spiritual place or a real mountain… or both? A third time Satan tempts our Lord – another chance to strike a deal with the Devil. This battle of wills between Christ and Satan has eternal effect on humanity, on you and I. Again, read the text and think about the greater meaning of the words while using the artwork to help in the interpretation.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:5
*
…his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. Ezekiel 33:5-6

My artistic representations of Jesus (or Iesous, Iesus, 'Isa, Yeshua, Yehoshua, etc.) and Satan are meant to help tell the story and interpret scripture. You have seen parts ONE, TWO, and THREE: (1.) “Bread in the Desert” (2.) “Stone of the Temple” (3.) “Light from the Mountain”.  Every word within the artwork is from the King James Bible.  I hereby declare that my art does not add to or take away from any scripture, especially the book of Revelation - perceive it accordingly.

Originally, I identified the location of the Bible verses in the text boxes.  However, the citing of the book, chapter number, and verse number seemed distracting in my sequential art format.  So I have provided that information below.

Where in the Bible are the verses that I used?

Matthew 4:1-11 or Luke 4:1-13 are used throughout the work and make up the storyline. Scriptures from these Gospels make up the dialogue and are in the text boxes that look like neutral colored parchments. The locations of the other verses used in this chapter are listed below. These supplemental texts are from other parts of the Bible. Old testament scriptures are in the text boxes that look like yellowed parchments. Additional New Testament scriptures are in the text boxes that look like colored parchments.
